Easy Windfall Apple & Maple Pie
Our little ones have become expert foragers lately, juicy blackberries, sweet chestnuts and our firm favourites - windfall apples.

Ingredients

Pre-made shortcrust pastry

500g windfall apples, peeled and chopped

2 tbsp maple syrup - plus a little more to drizzle on top

1 tbsp plain flour

50g brown sugar

2 tsp ground cinnamon
Method

Preheat oven to 200ºC (180ºC fan)

Divide the pastry in two and roll out. Line your pie dish and then put it in the fridge to chill.

Mix the apples with the maple syrup, flour, sugar and cinnamon. Pour into the pastry base.

Roll out remaining pastry and use to top the pie. Brush with a little extra maple syrup.

Bake for 20-25 minutes until the pastry is golden.

Serve hot with cream or ice cream - apple-solutely delicious!
